Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 11:09 AM
by Emediawire (press release) - Ferndale,WA,USA
"One milblogger has turned his Iraq blog into an award-winning book, “Saving Babylon: The Heart of an Army Interrogator in Iraq.” Author Paul Holton, who used the name “Chief Wiggles” in his blog, was in Kuwait in the days leading up to the invasion of Iraq. He witnessed the toppling of the regime and Saddam’s eventual capture. Holton’s blog attracted thousands of readers while he was stationed in Iraq, and he expects to reach an even broader audience with his book."

Odd Military Blog of the Week: Love From the Latrine!
Tuesday, November 1, 2005, 11:06 AM
Love from the Latrine is a chronicle of the adventures of the Port o Potty in Iraq! The men and women of the U.S. have a great imagination. And in the military sometimes this is the only way to get true feelings out! This site does not promote defaming government property rather the feelings within!
Favorite Quote: "A lot of blood, sweat, and tears go into the utilization of these facilities! And I really mean that literally!"

Military Wives
Monday, October 31, 2005, 01:41 PM
That's right kids, military wives blog, too. Well, it's more than just the deployed servicemen that are affected by deployment - it's the wives who stayed behind who must take care of everything at home. These are people who have to contend with the dirty diapers, the four-legged kids, work, long lines at the Post Office, bills, mowing the lawn, and of course, military life. Those who read military wive's blogs, know they have a tendency to poke fun at daily life in the military. Here's what a search on "wife" turned up in the database.
1.
Air Force Family (Airforcewife)
2.
An Army Wife Life (Armywifetoo)
3.
Andi`s World (Andi C)
4.
ArmyWifeToddlerMom (Army Wife)
5.
Hooah Wife (Hooah Wife)
6.
Neurotic Iraqi Wife (Neurotic_Wife)
7.
Running on Coffee (Kim)
8.
Two Blue Lines (Sheryl)
9.

Op Sec
Monday, October 31, 2005, 01:29 PM
Op Sec violations in milblogs are one way to get shutdown. Last week the Army issued new guidelines to milbloggers in effort to prevent security risks. Rather than continue blogging, many milbloggers have closed down, instead of contending with the new guidelines. Here's a list of some of the milblogs listed in the Milblogging.com database that have closed down. We'll keep an eye out for other milblogs in the database that have been shutdown, and update this list.
1.
The Daily Journal of Kevin Kelly 2.
67th Combat Support Hospital Docs 3.
The Questing Cat 4.
Airborne Hog Society

Military Mother Blogs
Monday, October 31, 2005, 01:25 PM
One of the joys here at Milblogging.com is using the Basic Search and Advanced Search to see what kind of milblogs exist. One thing we like is that writers are not only members of the military, but Mothers too. How awesome would it be to learn about some high-speed Army Ranger who wet his bed until he was fifteen? Milbloggers take note - your mothers are writing about you too. And there's at least a handful of them, and they're multiplying. Here's what a search on "mom" turned up in the Milblogging.com database:
1.
Daily life of a Marine Mom 2.
Soldiers Mom 3.
You Betcha I`m a Proud Army Mom 4.
ArmyWifeToddlerMom 5.
Marine Corps Moms
